Online Counselling Wrexham

Hi, I’m Simon. As a counsellor, I support people who feel held back by negative thoughts or feelings about themselves, helping them build self-awareness and confidence to live a more fulfilling life and reach their full potential.

I currently offer online counselling, providing both short- and long-term individual therapy for adults. I am experienced at supporting clients facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, stress, low mood, anger, trauma, low self-worth, and a lack of purpose.

To give a brief overview of how I work - Initially, we will focus on gaining a clear understanding of what you’re experiencing and the underlying factors contributing to your challenges. Many clients have discovered unhelpful, unconscious negative beliefs that were holding them back. Together, we work on challenging and replacing these beliefs while fostering greater self-acceptance. Increased self-awareness can be an important step toward bringing about positive change.

Clients often share that they value my empathetic listening and my ability to ask thoughtful questions that help them gain deeper insight into themselves.

Some clients have struggled with overwhelming emotions that made daily life difficult. By identifying their emotional triggers and exploring the root causes—often linked to past negative experiences—they’ve gained meaningful understanding and relief. As a trauma-informed therapist, I am experienced in helping clients process emotional pain and overcome unhelpful beliefs stemming from traumatic events.

Working through negative thoughts and feelings creates space for greater self-acceptance and positive thinking, leading to a healthier and more fulfilling relationship with yourself and others.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling and take an integrative approach, drawing from various psychological methods to tailor our work to your unique needs. Together, we will collaborate to find the most effective path forward for you.

Online therapy

I use Google Meet for online counselling sessions. I send you an invite and you click the link, allowing the app to acess the mic and camera on your device. No download should be required. As long as you have privacy and a stable wi-fi connection, then online therapy can be just as effective as in-person, whilst offering greater convenience and accessibility.

Online Therapy has really taken off since the Pandemic and millions of people are now discovering the sheer flexibility of seeing their therapist online.

As long as you have a private space to sit during your Google Meet sessions, you can fit your therapy in around work commitments, taking your call from the office or from the comfort of your own home.  I can even work with clients when they are on holiday abroad if they have privacy and good WiFi.

For some, they have said it has also helped them to feel less anxious about therapy, knowing they are sitting in the comfort of their own safe space at home. They've found it easier to tackle emotional subjects and to process difficult feelings online. It seems there is something about the screen - it serves as a protective layer between us and has helped them to find the courage to be more open about their thoughts and feelings.

Online therapy offers a convenient and accessible solution for individuals with additional needs. Attending sessions from the comfort of your own home eliminates concerns about the accessibility of a therapist’s office, transportation challenges, or finding nearby parking.

For those struggling with anxiety or panic attacks, online therapy can feel more comfortable and secure, allowing you to engage in sessions from your own safe space.

Additionally, if you frequently travel for work, online sessions provide continuity in your therapy journey, so you won’t need to pause your progress whenever you’re away from home.
