Lynn | Online Relationship Therapist and Couples Counsellor
Online Therapy and Counselling Bristol
I Work ONLINE in intimacy, sexuality, wellbeing and good health.
I have been counselling individuals and couples for over 18 years in Bristol, London and online. My passion lies in working with people to improve the quality of their life experience, helping people to relate better, gain confidence to have a more prosperous life, look at blocks in their lives which may be a result of unresolved childhood issues, resolving conflict in relationships, and recovery from traumatic relationships.
I have expertise in the field of sexuality, relationship issues, Narcissistic Personality Disorder(NPD), Codependency, attachment styles, self esteem issues.
I run Touch and Embodiment evenings in Bristol and Totnes, teaching people boundaries and conscent and giving/receiving touch. I also run workshops on teaching relating skills, including boundaries, attachment styles and Terry Real’s “Adaptive Child” model.
I have worked for 10 years with Intimacy Workshop Leader Jan Day, and can offer lots of practical exercises to help couples form intimate contact again through touch.
Online therapy
My online way of working is through Video link using Zoom, or telephone counselling should you prefer.
With Online Counselling Clients have found ...
- their counselling sessions online via zoom, have felt 'surprisingly comfortable’
- if they were hesitant to try online therapy initially, they found that they enjoyed the freedom online therapy gave them
- it was beneficial not having to rush to or from appointments in busy traffic
- they saved time by not having to travel

Specialisations
1. Main Goals of Couples Therapy:
• Understand yourself, your partner, and your relationship dynamics.
• Break ineffective patterns and create better ones.
2. Individual Responsibility:
• Focus on improving your own behavior rather than trying to change your partner.
• Set personal goals for therapy; the therapist is there to help you achieve them.
3. Challenges and Trade-offs:
• Building a healthy relationship takes time and effort.
• Emotional and energy comfort may be challenged, requiring vulnerability and persistence.
4. Effective Therapy Participation:
• Reflect on your objectives before each session.
• Avoid reactive discussions; focus on long-term goals rather than current problems.
5. Key Attitudes:
• A positive attitude toward change is more important than just knowing what actions to take.
• Accept that you and your partner are limited in how you can respond to each other.
6. Communication is Crucial:
• Effective communication requires respect, openness, and persistence.
• Focus on what you can do to make your partner more responsive to you.
7. Growth Through Conflict:
• Disagreements and conflicts help relationships grow if managed well.
• Focus on learning from conflicts rather than avoiding them.
8. Self-Improvement:
• Becoming a better partner is the most efficient way to improve the relationship.
• Learn from what annoys you and how you handle those feelings.
9. Prepare for Sessions:
• Reflect on what you want to achieve before each session for more productive therapy.
10. Ongoing Effort:
• Change requires sustained effort over time, and both partners need to be committed to growth.
Most common issues I support people with:
1. Communication Issues: Difficulty in effectively expressing thoughts, emotions, and concerns. Miscommunication or a breakdown in communication can cause frequent arguments, misunderstandings, or feelings of disconnection.
2. Infidelity or Trust Issues: Rebuilding trust after infidelity or dealing with other forms of betrayal can be complex. Couples often seek therapy to navigate the pain, rebuild trust, and explore whether the relationship can move forward.
3. Life Transitions: Major life changes, such as the birth of a child, career changes, moving house, or retirement, can place stress on relationships. Couples therapy helps partners adapt to these transitions and maintain a strong connection.
4. Emotional or Physical Intimacy Problems: Struggles with physical or emotional intimacy, including differing levels of sexual desire or emotional detachment, can lead to relationship dissatisfaction. Therapy can help address these issues and foster closeness.
5. Conflict Resolution: Couples may find themselves stuck in repetitive, unproductive patterns of conflict that escalate quickly or never reach a resolution. Therapy can teach healthier ways of managing and resolving disagreements.
