Chrissi | BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist
Counselling Howden - East Yorkshire
Hi, thank you for taking the time out to look at my profile. My name is Chrissi, I am an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist registered with the BABCP, and a registered Mental Health Nurse with the NMC. I have over 20 years experience of working with people struggling with emotional and psychological problems. As well as working independently as a CBT Therapist, I continue to work as a Psychological Psychotherapist within the NHS.
My approach in therapy is collaborative, active and holistic. I offer a reliable, confidential and non-judgemental space to help you explore your inner thoughts and feelings, and support you in times of transition, distress and emotional need.
CBT is a very practical and structured therapy. At the start of each session we set an agenda. We develop a visual diagram to help us understand what unhelpful thoughts and behaviours may be maintaining your problem; this is sometimes called a 'vicious cycle'.
We identify your goals and each session is purposeful helping you work towards them. You will be introduced to specific skills and exercises which facilitate positive changes. At the end of each session we discuss assignments for you to practice in between your sessions. This is a key part of CBT and why it works so well.
I offer face to face therapy from my two counselling room in Howden, East Yorkshire. I also offer online therapy using Teams / Zoom.
