Jo | Integrative Counsellor
Integrative Counselling Chester
I'm an Integrative counsellor, which means I work from a client-centred perspective, but we can work with different counselling techniques tailored to suit you and your needs.
We are all individuals with our own unique outlook on the world, and as such, I don't believe counselling should be a one-model-fits-all approach. Whether you feel you would benefit from a safe place and a supportive listening ear, or a more tailored, tool-based model, we can work together to find the right blend for you.
I have experience in working with a range of client issues, such as relationship issues (including training in coercive control and domestic and sexual abuse); work and career concerns; anxiety and depression; the long winding road of grief; peri- and menopause support; family and childhood worries; concerns around food and diet; and even just the stress of being human in these times, particularly after the Covid-19 pandemic. These are all occasions when we might feel we need extra support, and we can spend as long as you need exploring these feelings that can leave us unmoored in our day-to-day lives. Sometimes we just need a place to download.
I offer face-to-face, online and phone counselling, with a free 30 minute consultation to assess your needs and what you feel you want from counselling.
Online therapy
I use Google Meet for online, which is really quick and simple to use, and requires no apps.Qualifications and registrations

Specialisations
Due to the fact I am increasingly supporting clients who have found themselves - either historically or currently - in abusive situations, I have found it necessary and helpful to train in understanding coercive control and domestic and violent abuse within relationships, and this is an ongoing training process for me, in order to best support clients as they work through this.Therapies offered
