Sharon | Talking Therapist/ counsellor
Psychotherapy Southend-on-Sea
I had a stroke many years ago that affected every aspect of my life & left me disabled! Hence, I also know the challenges of being a single parent. In my previous career I loved working with and inspiring young people, this is still close to my heart. If you are a young person unsure which direction to take your future, use me to help you find your answers.
If you want to be listened to, if your life path didn’t take the route you had planned, if you are impacted by trauma in yours or a loved ones life, maybe you have pressures - exams, illness, injury or baggage from the past that bothers you today, I want to help you navigate all of this. Together we can unpick it all so that you can live your best life.
My goal is to help you work through struggles, if necessary by addressing underlying causes and help you to make sense of your thoughts, feelings, behaviours and ways of relating to both yourself and others.

Specialisations and Expertises
Any life transition is my speciality. Helping you to accept the change in your life.
I've worked with people who have been diagnosed with life altering illnesses, others that have been bereaved. Some people have changed job, moved town, split with a partner. Sometimes we need help processing the change, so that we can accept it. Only then can we carve out a different life.
Most common issues I support people with:
Life changing medical trauma affects everybody in the survivors life. I have lived experience of this and the impact it had on my husband, our relationship, the internal messages that my children gave themselves and even my business associates.
Anxiety-so often people don't realise that the emotions they are having are not unusual but for some reason people don't talk about these things. I am that person that you can share with and know that what ever you tell me is confidential.
Burnout is becoming more common. We feel that we have to be the perfect parent, partner, child, colleague, employee, business owner and we have to be perfect at all of them all of the time! No wonder this is becoming more common.
Anger issues mask so many different emotions. Often you don't realise that your anger isn't just that and you may not understand why you get so triggered. This is something that I work through with you and help you to identify it so that it doesn't control you any longer and you are in control.
Low self esteem. Somehow the messages that you have internalised, for whatever reason – childhood, relationship, school/work life have taken hold. We can work through this so that you can have self belief and self love.
