Helen | Person Centred Counsellor
Person-Centred Counselling Ashby-de-la-Zouch
Hello, I'm Helen, I am an experienced counsellor trained in person centred therapy. I would love to work with you to help you to process any difficulties you have faced both past and present and encourage growth towards a better future for yourself.
Having had my own personal therapy I am passionate about how it can change peoples lives, and also know the importance of finding a counsellor that is a correct fit, so I will always provide a friendly no obligation approach to allow you to explore this.
I have been working as a person centred therapist for 4 years, seeing adult individuals, and also some young people work, I also have experience of CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy) and systemic therapy and can incorporate this into my work where relevant.
I have had personal family experiences of ADHD and ASD, eating disorder, Anxiety, Depression, Alzheimers and Dementia and I have also been through some very challenging times, so I feel able to empathise and be naturally non judgemental towards my clients.
As a person centred therapist I put you, the client as my highest priority and endeavour to understand your own personal struggles, whilst gently challenging your thoughts to facilitate growth and healing. I regularly get clients saying they have found it easy to talk to me and welcome my down to earth, friendly approach and how I easily adapt to their needs, which is very humbling and something I am proud of.
I trained with Relate and I have ongoing CPD ( continued professional development) to keep my learning new and fresh. I am fully insured, qualified ( Level 4, diploma in therapeutic counselling) and have regular supervision. I am a registered member of the BACP ( British Association of Counselling and psychotherapy) and abide by their ethical framework details of this can be found online or I can email you a link to this if required.
I am also trained in Equine assisted Therapy and will be offering this in the future.
Online therapy
As well as face to face in the therapy rooms, I also offer online sessions via Zoom. If all sessions are done Via zoom then I will email my terms and conditions and client information record to you before we commence our work together for you to read through and agree.
