Shirley | Counsellor
Counselling Swindon
Hello, my name is Shirley. If life has been feeling difficult recently, or if you are feeling ‘stuck’ or overwhelmed, it can really help to talk things through with someone outside of your friends and family. I offer a safe and confidential space where you can explore and process your feelings and work towards change.
Perhaps you experience low self-esteem, feeling that you don’t belong or that you aren’t good enough. Or it could be that current life circumstances, childhood experiences, relationship difficulties or unhelpful thinking patterns and beliefs are contributing to feelings of being overwhelmed and unable to cope. You may be living with depression, anxiety or stress and wondering if anything can change.
Taking time out from everyday life to look at these areas can give you a new sense of perspective and bring healing and growth.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental approach to help you feel able to be open and honest. My aim is to work together with you to understand what is going on for you and support and encourage you as you work towards change. Often this begins with accepting ourselves as we are. In his book 'On Becoming a Person', Carl Rogers observes: 'The curious paradox is that when I accept myself as I am, then I change’
Online therapy
For online therapy, I use Google Meet. I would send you a link via email which you click to join the meeting. You don't need to have downloaded any special software to do this.
