Online therapy and counselling

Hello, thanks for viewing my profile. I understand how tough it can be to reach out to a counsellor based on my own therapy journey. I offer a free 15-30 minute session online or via the phone so we can get to know each other and see if we are a good match, there is no pressure to commit. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or other mental health challenges, I'm here to support you on your path to feeling better.

Therapy via Zoom

In today's fast-paced world, I understand that seeking therapy in a traditional in-person setting may not always be convenient or feasible. That's why I offer the option of online therapy to cater to your unique needs and circumstances. Online therapy brings a host of benefits, including flexibility and accessibility. You can now access professional counselling from the comfort of your own space, eliminating the need for travel and fitting therapy sessions seamlessly into your schedule.

Additionally, online therapy provides a sense of privacy and anonymity, allowing you to open up and share your thoughts and feelings in a comfortable, familiar environment. Whether you're facing geographical limitations, time constraints, or simply prefer the convenience of virtual sessions, I am here to offer the same level of care, support, and guidance you would receive in an in-person setting. Online therapy opens new doors to self-discovery and healing, providing a modern and effective approach to mental and emotional well-being.

Rest assured, our Zoom sessions are conducted in a confidential and secure environment, prioritising your comfort and privacy throughout our therapeutic journey

Open-minded and practical

The therapeutic relationship is so important for positive outcome and is my top priority.  I will put this first and strive to create a space where you feel comfortable to freely express yourself and your feelings.

As a therapist, my approach is open-minded, practical and step-by-step and tailored to your needs.  I sometime delve into your past to understand patterns you might have running out of awareness and we can work to update them for your benefit for a happier you.

Together we will work to identify any unhelpful patterns of behaviour or thoughts that might have built up over time. We will work to build a stronger and happier you. Learning to express our feelings in a healthy way to reduce anxiety, stress, depression and connect you to others more deeply.

If you feel comfortable and you'd like to explore how we can work together, please schedule a free initial meeting or email me. I'm eager to begin this journey with you!

Specialisations

As a counsellor, my expertise lies in providing support and guidance for individuals dealing with various challenges.

Anxiety - helping clients navigate through anxiety, offering practical tools and coping strategies to manage overwhelming feelings and try to unearth where they originated.

Depression, working collaboratively with individuals to explore the root causes, fostering a space for healing and personal growth.

Grief and loss can be incredibly difficult to cope with, and I am dedicated to assisting individuals through the grieving process. Whether it's the loss of a loved one, a relationship, or a significant life change, I offer empathetic support and tools to navigate the complexities of grief.

Recognising the profound impact of childhood emotional neglect, I specialise in addressing its effects on individuals' well-being. Through a compassionate and understanding approach, I work with clients to explore and process these early experiences, fostering healing and developing healthier coping mechanisms.

In each of these specialisations, my goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their thoughts and emotions, leading to a deeper understanding of themselves and empowering positive change in their lives.

We rebuild the trust with Valerie's help

Valerie helped us look at and work through our huge resentment of each other, and helped us rebuild the trust with each to improve our relationship but showing us how to be honest with our feelings, she warned us it wouldn't be easy and it wasn't but we are now each other's safe place and trust person we always wanted to be.

Valerie has been so supportive, caring and encouraging

It has been great to be able to work with someone to try to understand why i have anxiety and how to deal with it, how it impacts me and why. It has been amazing to find out that there is a reason for my anxiety and it makes sense. Valerie has been so supportive, caring and encouraging. I have felt validated, listened to and understood. I am so grateful for her patience and willingness to encourage me to open up, i feel better which I didn't think possible!

I am very grateful

I did not think that my childhood could have such an impact on my life but I see through therapy that it has had for a long time. Now I am able to feel emotions that before I could not let myself. I feel more whole and things make more sense. I am very grateful.
