Jane | Counsellor

Counselling Newcastle Upon Tyne

I work with adults, young people, teenagers and children age 6+. Whether it is yourself or your child who needs support please get in touch for an informal chat.

I believe my clients know themselves and are the expert on their own life. I will work with whatever you feel you need to bring to therapy. I will offer you a safe place without judgement and with respect. I will give you the space to explore your feelings and will respect you for who you are while believing in your potential to grow.

Counselling can help with many issues you may be facing.  Anxiety, low mood, depression, bereavement, abuse, family issues, marital problems or past trauma are some examples of problems you can explore through counselling. The real power of therapy

Thank you For being my counsellor Jane and listening to me. I truly felt heard and listened to in all of my sessions with you. I know when I was looking to start my therapy, I was very reluctant because I thought I’d have nothing to speak about. I felt the same way on my very first session too. However, to my surprise I was straight in there and telling you how I was feeling and even crying because the emotion I had been carrying for so long was too much to bear. The only reason I was able to be myself and open up to this extent was because you made me feel so at ease. I never once felt judged and you helped me recognise where the emotion was truly coming from. I feel that this is where the real power of therapy actually lies. In being able to sort through and feel the emotions we go through and accepting that sometimes they can be carried for a number of years before you acknowledge it. There were times when Jane did challenge my thoughts and feelings. She helped me sort out the emotional chaos in my mind by pulling it apart and allowing me time to sit with my feelings. I would highly recommend Jane as a Therapist and her efficient service.

Jane has truly changed my life for the better

I have been with Jane since August 2023 and cannot fault the support, guidance and help I have received in that time. Jane has helped me learn so much about myself, how to deal with situations and given me much confidence back. I truly felt cared for and listened too. I would 100% recommend Jane and her service. Thank you Jane, you have truly changed my life.

Approachable, professional and friendly

My daughter had struggled for quite some time with anxiety and poor mental health generally. Under current circumstances, waiting for NHS mental health services was not an option, but seeking private support seemed quite daunting, and concerns about affordability were a factor. From initial queries through to providing support and assistance to my daughter, Jane was extremely approachable, helpful, professional and friendly. Not being particularly familiar with what is involved in seeking help from mental health services, Jane was extremely responsive and helpfully explained the processes and approach that could be taken to help my daughter with the issues she faced. Following an initial consultation, Jane made regular, flexible arrangements to engage my daughter over a number of counselling sessions. My daughter also found Jane to be extremely approachable, friendly and yet very professional. My daughter felt that Jane established a good client relationship with her. Over the course of a number of sessions with Jane, my daughter found that, in being able to freely discuss her thoughts and feelings, she was given a range of tools and means to help her cope better with her thought processes and help reduce her anxieties. Overall, I think the help and guidance provided by Jane has been a wholly positive experience for both my daughter and our family. I would strongly recommend Jane's excellent service.
