You might be feeling anxious, guilty, low or worthless, you may be struggling in relationships, or possibly feeling like you don't really know yourself. Maybe it feels hard to put yourself first even a little bit, or make time for what you need?

I work with adults and couples, either online or in person in Dorset. I have over ten years experience working with clients coming for support for a range of issues including relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and questions of identity.

What I can do is provide you with a supportive space where you can feel safe enough to get to know yourself better and figure out what you want. The understanding and care that I can help you develop for yourself will lead to better relationships, and a greater sense of confidence and respect for yourself.

I work in a collaborative way with my clients; I will encourage you to open up and connect with your vulnerability whilst always respecting the pace that you need to go at, I may gently challenge you but I will never push you to talk about anything that you're not ready for.

Online therapy

Online therapy is a convenient way to access sessions from a space where you feel comfortable. I use a secure platform designed for telehealth called Doxy.me, it is very easy to use and I'll send you all the details before our first session.

Specialisations

One of my main areas of interest and specialism is relationships, whether that is working with couples or with an individual's relationship with themself.

I often work longer-term with clients who want to get to know themselves better, who may have been struggling for a long time and who want to make changes in their lives and how they feel about themselves. Sometimes when we've been abused or nelected in childhood we've had to adapt to survive and we end up without a clear sense of self, and possibly with not-so-firm boundaries when it comes to relationships with others. I love supporting people to develop self-compassion, it opens up so many possibilities.

I see more and more clients newly diagnosed or self-identifying as ADHD and/or autistic. This realisation can also have a profound impact on who we are and how we see ourselves. I'm neurodivergent myself so have an understanding, and I'd be happy to work with you to discover more about who you are.

Fees

For individual counselling my fee is £55 per session and for couples it is £70.

I offer a reduced fee of £45 to students/counselling students and people on low income.
