Working through life's challenges together...
I am a qualified integrative Psychotherapist with a science degree in counselling and psychotherapy. My modality is the Clarkson 5 relationship model which underpins the way I work. I believe that building a trusted theraputic relationship is key to a good outcome in therapy. As a BACP registered Psychotherapist and Supervisor, based in the UK; I adhere to the guidelines and ethics set by the BACP.
Prior to working as a therapist, I gained experience working within various services, such as mental health services, hospitals, rehabilitation, community health visiting service, learning support, end of life and early years settings . This experience allows me to work holistically, as I believe all aspects of our overall health interlink.
I work in private practice providing Psychotherapy for couples and individuals, and Counselling Supervision for Students and Qualified Counsellors/Psychotherapists. My private practice is well established and built upon recommendations. In addition to this, I specialise in Bereavement Counselling and work with Cruse bereavement Sutton, supporting all areas of bereavement. Within Cruse bereavement, I support individuals, run online bereavement support groups and provide supervision support to bereavement support volunteers.
I also worked for many years at Sutton Women's Centre (Domestic abuse) and Surrey Care Trust (adolescents).
Tailored to your needs
The psychotherapy/counselling I offer is always tailored to meet your individual needs. I incorporate theoretical approaches, techniques & tools from various schools & traditions, including psychodynamic, existential, humanistic & transpersonal.
I will support you to access your own inner wisdom, finding a way forward so that life feels balanced and manageable. I will not give advice, try to fix you or tell you what to do; You are your own expert.
I see Counselling as a process rather than a quick fix. I am a very warm and welcoming individual and will take time to build a trusting and safe therapeutic relationship with you, to enable you to speak openly and freely without any judgement. I can provide alternative ways of thinking and viewing your situation. I will challenge your thoughts, use techniques or tools for accessing your unconscious mind and provide space for emotional healing..and much more. This might mean working short term or long term, depending on your needs from the space.
Experienced areas include:
Anger, Anxiety, Bereavement, Childhood abuse, Depression, Domestic Abuse, Relationship issues, Self-esteem, Self-harm, Sudden & traumatic death, & Work-related stress.
Continued professional development (CPD)
