Online Integrative Counselling

Sometimes in life we can feel broken or stuck. Perhaps events in our past havne't been addressed fullly or even at all, and we feel heavy or have a sense of being held back and no matter how we much we try, we cannot seem to shake thoughts and feelings which go with them.

At other times we may just feel stuck after what can feel like a lifetime of tryng and not being able to feel success.  Maybe we secretly believe that we aren't good enough to succeed, or perhaps we are just so terrified of getting it wrong that we feel paralysed with fear and ideas never turn into actions.

In an ideal world, we would have someone to talk to within our family or support network, but sometimes we don't feel that we can because we don't want to hurt their feelings or face their reactions.  Counselling can fill this gap and is a way to express how you really think and feel in a respectful, safe and non-judgemental way with someone who is not emotionally involved.

About me

I am an experienced Counsellor having helped people from when I completed my placements during my initial training, plus setting up in private practice in 2011. During this time I have developed skills to help in various ways including working with those who were in a position to self-fund and were able to have longer term therapy to those whose therapy was provided by insurance or EAP companies where they had a specified number of sessions.  Either way, our aim was always to help the person feel like they better within themselves, had a better understanding of why certain events occurred and explored their reactions and what they had carried around with them as a result of the event or life experience, and upon leaving therapy having the confidence to feel skilled and equipped to nip things in the bud when future issues arose.

Integrative counselling can be a different experience as it looks at the whole person, starting from how we developed our personality and how we coped with different situations, finding ways to create a new level of insight and awareness whilst healing and putting events and the negative feelings and thoughts firmly in the past by reinforcing old coping strategies or developing new skills.

As I am qualified in this model of counselling and also have a further qualification in CBT, I can also work with you in a Person Centred, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Psychodynamic or Solution Focused Therapy way if this appeals to you more.  And as I continue to develop my learning, this adds to my skill set to provide you the best service possible.
